France24’s The Observers

France24 launched The Observers, or Observateurs, back in 2007 to verify claims from social media and the team now publishes in French, English, Arabic and Farsi to debunk hoaxes and get to the truth.

Not long before the recent Paris attacks they published an excellent guide to verification, full of tips, advice and case studies that are well worth remembering when looking through newsworthy material on social networks.
